College: Plans to go into pre-med at Kentucky but will not play football.
Why he’s on the team: Had 69 tackles (49 solo) and two fumble recoveries (returning both for touchdowns) for a defense that allowed just 5.9 points per game and tallied three shutouts on its way to the Class 4-A state championship. Also scored nine touchdowns (six rushing, four receiving) in limited time as a running back.
Coach’s take: “He’s very intelligent. A lot of times he’d know the play call before the coach ever called it. He’s be in the backfield taking handoffs and taking sweeps. He played three or four positions on both offense and defense for us. He just did what we needed him to do.” – Brandon Smith
