Fans voted North Bullitt pitcher Ryan Henson the winner of The Courier-Journal Metro Louisville Athlete of the Week Award presented by Norton Sports Health.
The senior allowed a run and three hits and struck out eight over six innings in a 9-1 victory over Boyd County on Friday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Last week’s other nominees included Bullitt East’s J.T. Morsey, Jeffersontown’s Karleigh Rapson and Fairdale’s Jacob Wheat.
Each Monday afternoon, four new athletes will be posted here as nominees for the Athlete of the Week Award. Voting runs through 8 p.m. Sunday. The winners will be invited to the year-end Courier-Journal Courier-Journal Kentuckiana Sports Awards Program banquet presented by Norton Sports Health.
