Taylor County coach Richard Greenwood will get one last chance to coach his star player.
The Cardinals coach is working with St. Xavier coach Kevin Klein for Friday’s Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic, which features former Taylor County standout and Xavier signee Quentin Goodin.
There probably won’t be tears in his eyes like there were on senior night a couple months ago, but Gatewood said the classic will be a bittersweet moment.
The two have become especially close over the last three years, and Gatewood likes to call the 6-3 guard the Michael Jordan of Taylor County. While he won’t be there to lead the Cardinals next year, Gatewood knows Goodin will still leave an impression.
“He’s got our program where we want it to go in the right direction,” the coach said.
