I’LIYAH GREEN
Male, Senior, 6-1
* On the floor: Green was a force in the paint, averaging 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocks for a Bulldogs team that finished 29-3 after falling to Manual in the Seventh Region final. Green shot 54.7 percent from the floor and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line and was named The Courier-Journal’s Seventh Region Player of the Year. She was a second-team All-State selection as a junior.
* Off the floor: Green is from a family full of athletes. Her father, Ibn, played tight end at the University of Louisville. Her sister, India, is a sophomore on the Male basketball team but suffered a season-ending knee injury in the season opener against Butler. India Green is expected to rejoin the Bulldogs in time for her junior season.
* Future: Green signed with Cincinnati after also considering Southern Illinois.
* Quotable: “She’s a really good passer and very unselfish,” Male coach Champ Ligon Jr. said. “But we’re going to miss her most on defense. She had a great ability her whole career to block shots without fouling. She only got in foul trouble once or twice, but when she did we really struggled.”
