Fans voted Christian Academy swimmer Nicolas Albiero the winner of The Courier-Journal Metro Louisville Athlete of the Week Award presented by Norton Sports Health.
The junior won the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke at Saturday’s State Swimming and Diving Championships and was named Co-Outstanding Meet Competitor.
Last week’s other nominees included Sacred Heart’s Asia Seidt, Bullitt East’s Lindsey Duvall and Trinity’s Gabe Schmitt.
Each Monday afternoon, four new athletes will be posted here as nominees for the Athlete of the Week Award. Voting runs through 8 p.m. Sunday. The winners will be invited to the year-end Courier-Journal Courier-Journal Kentuckiana Sports Awards Program banquet presented by Norton Sports Health.
