Girls LIT | Bullitt East knocks off PRP

Kirstie Henn scored a game-high 17 points and added nine rebounds and three assists to lead the Bullitt East High School girls basketball team to a 58-41 victory over Pleasure Ridge Park on Tuesday in the first round of the Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Consolidated Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.

Kathleen Scott (14 points, six assists) and Raegan Williams (eight points, 12 rebounds) also had big games for No. 16-ranked Bullitt East (14-3), which won the rebounding battle 46-25 and shot 61.1 percent (22 of 36).

Bullitt East played without junior guard Alyssa Peak, who is out with strep throat. Coach Chris Stallings said Peak would not be available when the Chargers face Male at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a second-round game.

Carnethia Brown had 16 points and six steals to lead PRP (12-7), which hit just 3 of 26 shots (11.5 percent) in the first half and trailed 25-12 at halftime.
