The high school soccer postseason will resume Monday and Tuesday with first-round play in the State Tournament.
Boys games are set for Monday, with girls games slated for Tuesday. Winners advance to the state quarterfinals set for Saturday in Lexington.
On the boys side, Fern Creek (18-4-1) will face No. 24-ranked North Hardin (20-5-1) at 7 p.m. at Mercy. No. 2 Trinity (20-1-2) will meet No. 9 South Oldham (15-6-2) at 7 p.m. at Carroll County.
In Tuesday’s girls games, Mercy (11-11-2) will host No. 24 Bethlehem (15-7-1) at 7 p.m. and No. 1 Sacred Heart (18-4-1) will play No. 9 Simon Kenton (18-3) at Scott High in Covington, Ky.
Here are the pairings for the first-round State Tournament games (all games at 7 p.m.):
* Boys on Monday – Covington Catholic (20-2-2) at Montgomery County (19-2-1); Trinity (20-1-2) vs. South Oldham (15-6-2) at Carroll County; Calloway County (19-3) at Henderson County (15-10); North Hardin (20-5-1) vs. Fern Creek (18-4-1) at Mercy; Daviess County (22-2-2) at Bowling Green (17-2-3); Pikeville (12-8-1) at Rowan County (17-7-1); Henry Clay (20-2-1) at Mercer County (21-3-1); South Laurel (14-7-1) at Perry County Central (17-2-1).
* Girls on Tuesday – Notre Dame (19-5) at Bishop Brossart (14-9); Sacred Heart (18-4-1) vs. Simon Kenton (18-3) at Scott High; Murray (22-3) at Henderson County (17-4-2); Bethlehem (15-7-1) at Mercy (11-11-2); Owensboro Catholic (22-2) at Bowling Green (18-2-2); Johnson Central (16-3-1) at Rowan County (16-2-6); Lexington Catholic (21-2-2) at Boyle County (21-2-2); Corbin (11-6-3) at Estill County (18-1-2).
