Players to watch: Senior TE/DE Jake Paulson has received scholarship offers from Power 5 schools thanks to his size (6-5, 240) and his catching ability. As a freshman last season Milton Wright (6-2, 180) showed he was one of the top all-purpose players in the area by catching, throwing, passing and returning (both a kickoff and an interception) for scores.
Other top players: QB Austin Carr (So.), OL/DL Mike Lagestee (Sr.), OL/DL Nick Olsofka (Jr.), LB Cade Sparrow (Sr.), WR Nick Weaver (Sr.).
Outlook: This could be the year Christian Academy finally makes it past DeSales in the state playoffs. The Centurions return a bevy of talented skill players, but LeFors says the team must find someone to step up in the backfield, where three seniors are vying for carries. LeFors, a former University of Louisville quarterback, said he was impressed with Carr’s development in the offseason. After throwing for 1,919 yards last season, he’s returned about 15 pounds lighter. While Wright is dynamic on offense, LeFors expects the sophomore to be the anchor on defense as he’s the team’s most experienced secondary player.
