The Kentucky Golf Coaches Association has announced its regional players and coaches of the year.
Winning Player of the Year honors from the Louisville area were Shelby County’s Lily Young (Region Five girls) and St. Xavier’s Michael Sass (Region Six boys).
Shelby County’s Melissa Young and Sacred Heart’s Leslie Bender were named girls Co-Coaches of the Year in Region Five. Bullitt East’s Kyle Downs (Region Five) and Ballard’s Pat Heitz (Region Six) took boys Coach of the Year honors.

REGION FIVE
* All-region – Lily Young (Shelby County); Erin Rowland, Ryan Bender (Sacred Heart); Claire Watts (Collins); Maddie Hensley (Henry County); Lucy Suo (Manual).
* Player of the Year – Lily Young (Shelby County).
* Co-Coaches of the Year – Melissa Young (Shelby County); Leslie Bender (Sacred Heart).
BOYS
REGION FIVE
* All-region – Cameron Dawson (LaRue County); Michael Reed (Central Hardin); Cole Manion (Grayson County); Zach Taylor (Bullitt East); Javen Thomas, Garrett Valentine (Elizabethtown); Colin Crump (Meade County).
* Player of the Year – Cameron Dawson (LaRue County).
* Coach of the Year – Kyle Downs (Bullitt East).
REGION SIX
* All-region – Michael Sass, Allen Hamilton, Matt Liston, Billy Basham, Drew Kiehl (St. Xavier); Mason Lenhart (North Oldham); Hayden Zimmerer (Christian Academy).
* Player of the Year – Michael Sass (St. Xavier).
* Coach of the Year – Pat Heitz (Ballard).
