Butler High School’s Hailey Whitmer and Bullitt East’s Lindsay Renneisen helped the Louisville Stunners softball team win the 16-and-under division of the Triple Crown/USA Nationals held last week in New York City.
Whitmer and Renneisen are both rising seniors at their respective schools.
The Stunners beat the Southern California Firecrackers 6-3 in last Friday’s championship game.
Other team members are Woodford County’s Lindsay Anderson, Caitlin Karo, Bethany Todd and Paige Hampton; Scott County’s Haile Fain and Haley Osborne; Greenwood’s Katelyn Smith; South Warren’s Shelby Nunn; Bethlehem’s Jordan Thomas; Central Hardin’s Aubree Muse; Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Allison Davis; and New Albany’s Erikah Crosier. Woodford County’s Les Anderson is the head coach.
