North Bullitt High School’s Logan Wyatt, Ballard’s Jordon Adell and Oldham County’s Griffin McLarty have been named Player of the Year in their respective baseball regions in a vote of coaches.
Wyatt, a senior third baseman who is headed to the University of Louisville, was named Sixth Region Player of the Year. He hit .410 with five home runs, 55 RBIs, 18 doubles, 36 walks and seven stolen bases.
Adell, a junior pitcher/outfielder who has committed to U of L, was named Seventh Region Player of the Year. He batted .449 with 11 home runs, 44 RBIs, 10 doubles, 44 runs and 25 walks. On the mound, he was 1-0 with a 1.55 ERA and struck out 56 batters in 31 2/3 innings.
McLarty, a senior pitcher who has signed with College of Charleston, was named Eighth Region Player of the Year. He is 11-0 with a 0.32 ERA and 119 strikeouts and just four walks in 65 innings. He’s also batting .433 with six home runs, 49 RBIs, nine doubles, 26 runs and five stolen bases for the Eighth Region champion Colonels.
Fairdale’s Adam Crawford (Sixth), Trinity’s Rick Arnold (Seventh) and Henry County’s Stuart Dill (Eighth) received Coach of the Year honors in their respective regions.
