Chris Jefferson has been named the new girls basketball coach at Oldham County High School.
A former assistant at South Oldham and Butler, Jefferson got his first head-coaching spot at Holy Cross last season and finished 13-15 after falling to Fairdale 58-56 in the 21st District Tournament semifinals.
At Oldham County, Jefferson will replace Brian Hood, who stepped down after posting a 12-18 record in his only season. The Colonels were the 29th District runners-up and lost to Owen County 62-46 in the quarterfinals of the Eighth Region Tournament.
Holy Cross athletic director Jody Thornsberry said the school is accepting applications for Jefferson’s replacement.
