So you were named to a Courier-Journal All-Area Team for your sport or were voted an Athlete of the Week Award winner for the 2015-16 school year? Congratulations on your great season and let us welcome you and a guest to the upcoming Kentuckiana Sports Awards Banquet presented by Norton Sports Health. There, you and a guest will be treated to dinner, an awards ceremony and guest speaker Peyton Manning.

But first, you might have a few questions.

When and where is the banquet?
It will be held June 14 in South Wing A of the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, in Louisville. Guest check-in begins at 6 p.m., dinner begins at 6:30 and the awards show begins at 7 p.m. The event is schedule to end at roughly 9 p.m.

Who is invited?
Nearly 1,000 athletes from the Metro Louisville and Southern Indiana areas are invited. To earn an invite, you must have either been named to a Courier-Journal All-Area Team (a full list of 2015-16 teams and selections is available here) or been voted the winner of the Athlete of the Week Award (a full list of 2015-16 Metro Louisville winners is here, and here’s a list of Southern Indiana winners). If your name is on there, you and a guest are invited to enjoy the evening, totally free.

Is there still time to win an Athlete of the Week Award and get invited?

There sure is. You can visit this page to learn how to nominate someone for the Metro Louisville or Southern Indiana Athlete of the Week Awards presented by Norton Sports Health.

I’ve been invited. How do I register?
Fill out this form with your information and that of a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian does not have to be the same person you intend to bring as your guest. Within a week of filling out the form, you’ll receive an RSVP email. Reply to that with your name and your guest’s name. Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive tickets via email and a physical copy in the mail. But even if you lose your tickets, we’ll have you on our guest list.

I’m having trouble accessing the registration form. What should I do?

A few people have not been able to access the form via work or school networks. Try on another computer on a different network. If you still cannot access it, email Courier-Journal sports director Chris White at ccwhite@courier-journal.com.

It’s been more than a week since I registered and I haven’t received an RSVP email. What do I do?

First, check your spam/junk box to make sure it didn’t end up there. If you still don’t have it, email Courier-Journal sports director Chris White at ccwhite@courier-journal.com and we’ll have it resent.

Can I bring more guests?
You sure can; however, you’ll have to purchase additional tickets here. Please make sure the purchaser lists which school and athlete they’re associated with so that we can match sales to invitees. These tickets are not available to the general public yet, though their number is limited, so please purchase them soon to guarantee there will be some available.

I’ve been invited but cannot attend. Do I need to do anything?
No need to take any action. We’re sorry to hear you won’t be able to join us. And no, you don’t have to be present to win.

What is the dress code?

Cocktail/semi-formal

Where can I go to keep up with any other news and announcements from the Kentuckiana Sports Awards?

You can keep an eye on our Metro Louisville high school sports site, our Southern Indiana high school sports site and our Courier-Journal Kentuckiana Sports page.
