LIT features 7 ranked teams from Thursday-Saturday - Total of 32 teams to play in Louisville area

Thirty-two high school baseball teams from around Kentucky – including seven ranked among the state’s top 20 – will compete in the Louisville Invitational Tournament set for Thursday through Saturday.

The event will feature four teams each at eight host sites in the Louisville area – Butler, Southern, Bullitt East, Eastern, Male, Ballard, Christian Academy, Pleasure Ridge Park. The round-robin event does not crown a champion.

Central Hardin, No. 2 in the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association’s top 20, is the top-ranked team in the event and will play at PRP. Other ranked teams in the field are No. 6 Trinity, No. 9 North Bullitt, No. 15 Scott County, No. 16 Tates Creek, No. 18 Oldham County and No. 20 Ballard.

The most competitive site could be at Christian Academy, where North Bullitt, Tates Creek and Oldham County all will play.

Here is the schedule (all times p.m. unless otherwise noted):

AT BUTLER

* Thursday – Butler vs. North Oldham, 6

* Friday – North Oldham vs. Henry Clay, 6; Butler vs. Mercer County, 8:30

* Saturday – North Oldham vs. Mercer County, 11 a.m.; Mercer County vs. Henry Clay, 1:30; Butler vs. Henry Clay, 4

AT SOUTHERN

* Thursday – Manual vs. Southern, 5

* Friday – Western Hills vs. Southern, 6; Bishop Brossart vs. Southern, 8:15

* Saturday – Manual vs. Western Hills, 11 a.m.; Western Hills vs. Bishop Brossart, 1:15; Bishop Brossart vs. Manual, 3:30

AT BULLITT EAST

* Thursday – DeSales vs. Bullitt East, 6

* Friday – South Oldham vs. Bullitt East, 6; LaRue County vs. DeSales, 8:30

* Saturday – DeSales vs. South Oldham, 10 a.m.; South Oldham vs. LaRue County, 12:30; LaRue County vs. Bullitt East, 3

AT EASTERN

* Thursday – Collins vs. Eastern, 6

* Friday – Lexington Catholic vs. Eastern, 5:30; Ballard Memorial vs. Collins, 8
