Jared Farris’ dunk with just under a minute left in overtime helped Bullitt East avoid an upset and knock off DeSales 57-51 in a boys Sixth Region semifinal Thursday at Valley.
Farris, who scored 14 points and grabbed 15 boards, scored four of the final six points for the Chargers (27-5), the No. 9 team in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings.
The Colts (10-21) led 49-42 with 2:10 remaining, but Bullitt East rattled off the next nine points to take a two-point lead with 53.1 seconds left. Kyle Manning’s putback with 30 seconds left forced overtime, but the Colts would not score again.
