Fans voted North Oldham wrestler Collin Portman the winner of The Courier-Journal Metro Louisville Athlete of the Week Award presented by Norton Sports Health.
The senior won the 220-pound weight class and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at Saturday’s Mustang Classic at North Oldham. Portman pinned Trinity’s Ian Roberts in the final to improve to 51-0 this season.
Last week’s other nominees included Sacred Heart’s Ashley Moch, Male’s Alex Cook and Valley’s Curt Lewis.
Each Monday afternoon, four new athletes will be posted here as nominees for the Athlete of the Week Award. Voting runs through 8 p.m. Sunday. The winners will be invited to the year-end Courier-Journal Courier-Journal Kentuckiana Sports Awards Program banquet presented by Norton Sports Health.
