Trevon Marshall hit 1 of 2 free throws with 4.5 seconds left to lift the Evanston (Ill.) Township High School boys basketball team to a 73-72 victory over Paul Dunbar on Wednesday in the fifth-place game of the Forcht Bank King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic at Fairdale.
Paul Dunbar had a final chance to win, but Jordan Lewis’ contested layup try at the buzzer missed.
Jerome Bynum scored 15 points to lead the Wildkits (10-2). Nojel Eastern and Chris Hamil added 11 points apiece.
Taveion Hollingsworth hit 14 of 16 free throws and scored 32 points to lead Paul Dunbar (8-2). Darius Williams added 19 points. The Bulldogs led 29-16 early in the second quarter before Evanston Township rallied.
