Trinity High School senior linebacker Vincent Lococo said Wednesday that he has committed to the University of Louisville football team as a preferred walk-on with hopes of someday earning a scholarship.
Lococo (5-11, 217 pounds) had 27 tackles, including a 10 for losses (3.5 sacks), an interception, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery for the Shamrocks this season.

He said it’s possible he could play inside or outside linebacker in college and that U of L has mentioned him playing some fullback.

Lococo has attended most of Louisville’s home games this season and has become a big fan of the Cards. He said he was also considering Morehead State, as well as walk-on offer from Western Kentucky and Marshall. His grandfather, also named Vincent Lococo, played football at the University of Kentucky.
“I love everything about getting to play for my hometown school,” Lococo said. “I want to be that hometown hero for little kid just how the guys who have come before me were.”
He’ll join his friend and Trinity teammate Rodjay Burns, a receiver/cornerback who is a scholarship commitment, at U of L next year. Lococo also said he’s good friends with U of L sophomore quarterback/running back Reggie Bonnafon.
