Oldham County is looking for a new football coach after choosing not to renew the contract of Mike Shatzer.
The Colonels posted a 7-24 record in three seasons under Shatzer, including a 3-7 mark in 2016.
“Not enough W’s,” Shatzer said. “It was something I didn’t expect, honestly. I know we took a step back last year (1-9), but I felt like we righted the ship this year and we were competing for a playoff spot until the last district game.”
Oldham County athletic director David Letendre could not be reached for comment.
Shatzer ended his season a winner on Sunday when he coached the Metro Louisville team to a 21-7 victory over the Kentucky squad in the Best of the Bluegrass all-star game.
