* Storyline: Winner takes big step toward hosting first-round playoff game.
* Bardstown: The Tigers are off to their first 5-0 start since 2012 after posting a 41-28 victory at Henry County last week. Senior quarterback Santrel Farmer threw three touchdowns passes in the victory, and senior De’Ondre Boggs scored two TDs (one receiving, one punt return) and had six receptions for 144 yards. The Tigers beat the Wildcats 30-18 last year.
* Waggener: The Wildcats dropped their Class 3-A, District Three opener at Central last week, falling 41-21 after trailing 27-0 at halftime. Senior quarterback Larry Harper completed 13 of 22 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Another district loss likely would mean Waggener would have to hit the road for the first round of the playoffs.
