TRINITY (4-0) AT PLEASURE RIDGE PARK (4-0)
* Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
* Storyline: Meeting between two of top 10 teams in Litkenhous Ratings.
* Trinity: The No. 1 Shamrocks rallied from a 34-21 deficit to beat No. 4 Male 37-34 last week. Senior quarterback Spencer Blackburn passed for 207 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 100 yards and a score. Senior Noah Ellison also had a big game with seven catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Trinity has won 66 straight games against JCPS opponents not named Male.
* PRP: The No. 10 Panthers are 4-0 for the second straight season after knocking off John Hardin 35-17 last week. With its running game slowed by John Hardin’s tough defensive line, the Panthers went to the passing game and got a big night from junior quarterback B.J. Robinson (13 of 19, 329 yards, four touchdowns). PRP also started 4-0 last year before falling to Trinity 44-0.
* Quotable: “We were 4-0 last year, too, but hopefully the guys have had a year of growing up now,” Panthers coach Jason Hiser said. “We were sophomore-heavy last year in the secondary and had a lot of juniors. We’ve showed some growth year, and I think we’ll go out and compete. We have a pretty good football team, too, but the No. 1 thing is we can’t go out and beat ourselves. Trinity is a good enough team on their own. We can’t do them any favors.”
* The pick: Trinity 35-7.
