Fern Creek’s Jamison White was having trouble keeping things down on Friday, but Bullitt Central had problems keeping him down, too.
The senior running back ran for 199 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to lead the host Tigers to a 30-0 victory over the Cougars in a first round high school football playoff contest Friday night. But there were several times when White would have go to the sidelines as he fought cramps and dehydration, according to his coach Josh Abell.
“I thought he was going to stop and throw up at the 40-yard line on that long touchdown,” Abell said about White’s 85-yard scoring run with 7:56 left in in the fourth quarter that ended the scoring. White wasn’t alone as several Tigers also battled cramps during the game that took 2:32 to complete.
Not only did White run well late, he also did so early. On the game’s first drive, he had runs for 10, 23 and nine yards on a seven-play, 61-yard drive that he capped with a 4-yard touchdown run just 1:52 into the contest.

Fern Creek (10-1) would add a safety on Bullitt Central’s first drive, taking advantage of a holding call that moved the Cougars (6-5) inside their 9. On a third-and-21, lineman Tim Long would sack Cameron Dukes in the end zone to make it 9-0.
Fern Creek amassed 432 yards on offense, with 373 of those coming on the ground. In addition, the defense held Cameron Dukes, one of the state’s top quarterbacks, to just 136 yards on just 13-of-35 passing.
Despite being able to move the ball well against the Cougars, the score would stay that way until 1:02 left in the third quarter. In the first half, Fern Creek had drives end on downs at the Cougars 1 and 29 and another stopped at the Bullitt Central 6 after a fumble.
Still, in reaching 10 wins for the first time since 1998, Fern Creek earned the right to host North Bullitt, which knocked off Doss 34-6, in a second-round matchup next week.
