Christian Academy senior tight end/defensive end Jake Paulson announced Monday on Twitter that he has committed to Western Kentucky University.

A 6-foot-5 245-pounder, Paulson caught 12 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns last season. He also had 99 tackles (40 solo) and earned second-team All-State honors from The Courier-Journal.

Through two games this season, Paulson has one catch for seven yards and 15 tackles (nine solo).

Paulson had several other scholarship offers, including from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Marshall, Purdue and Central Florida.

Paulson is the fifth player from Kentucky’s Class of 2017 to commit to WKU, joining Christian County wide receiver Keyron Catlett and defensive back Kenneth Major, Lexington Catholic offensive lineman Woodford Lankford and Ballard offensive lineman D.J. Washington.
