Five boys from Louisville receive first-team All-State West honors

Five players from Louisville have been selected to the first-team All-State West soccer team, as selected by the Kentucky Soccer Coaches Association.

Trinity’s Drew Goetz and Greg Fischer, Collegiate’s Haji Abdikadir, Kentucky Country Day’s Jonathan Laise and Butler’s David Ibrahimkadic were named to the first-team West squad, which covers regions 1-8.

The winner of Kentucky’s Mr. Soccer award will be announced later this month.

Here are the complete All-State teams:

WEST (REGIONS 1-8)

* First team – Donald Aviles, Gilio Aviles (Bowling Green); Drew Goetz, Greg Fischer (Trinity); Fahruden Dervisevic (South Warren); Haji Abdikadir (Collegiate); Jonathan Laise (Kentucky Country Day); Ryan Freer, Nolan Mattingly (Daviess County); Brett Royster (Henderson County); David Ibrahimkadic (Butler).

* Second team – Trent Stigler (St. Xavier); Jacob Teasley (Fern Creek); Andrew Hagan, Dylan Barth (Manual); Arif Smajlovic (Bowling Green); Micah Linscott, Simeon Packer (North Hardin); Cooper Cantrell, Chris Martin (South Oldham); Jackson Alford (Kentucky Country Day); Caleb Mattingly (South Warren).
